Referrals are not essential for sessions, however, there are referral types that provide rebates and assist with session costs. With all rebated sessions, there is a gap fee involved.
The cost of sessions are $190 for a 55 minute consultation(discounted from the full fee rate of $251 as recommended by the Australian Psychological Society)
The Medicare Rebate is $126.50. Therefore, the out of pocket expense is $63.50
Clients who hold a valid health care or pensioner concession card may be eligible for a reduced rate in negotiation with myself prior to scheduling an appointment.
No bulk-billing is offered.
Clients are expected to pay for their sessions at each appointment.
Most clients are referred by their GP under Medicare’s Better Access Program, with a Mental Health Care Plan. This may provide up to 10 rebated session per calendar year.
Other clients are able to receive a rebate through their Private Health Insurance Ancillary Cover. Clients should contact their relevant health fund for the latest rebate rates quoting the item code for an individual consultation of AO70. Private health rebates cannot be used if referred under Medicare.
Some clients have an insurance claim, including workers compensation, motor vehicle accident claims and more. Treatment can be funded by insurance when referred by their GP. Clients seeking treatment under Motor Vehicle Accident or Workers Compensation Insurance will be charged close to the APS recommended rate. Invoices will be sent directly to the insurer. The client is liable for the cost of treatment if the claim is not accepted. Please obtain written confirmation of agreement to fund your appointments from your insurance case manager prior to attending your first appointment.
When appointments are booked, the entire hour is reserved for you. The following cancellation policy applies:
- 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel appointments will incur no fee (all cancellations must be received by 12 noon the day prior to the appointment
- Cancellations received with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the fee
- No notice of a missed appointment will incur the full fee
